This makes me feel so sad and hopeless. What can I possibly do?
Nothing except watch.

One day elected representatives will treat abortion like it is radioactive. One day they’ll fall over themselves to deny that they were trying to restrict choice for anyone. One day these old, white, cis male legislators will hear the word “abortion” and their testicles will retreat at the thought of opening their mouths to oppose it.

But the only way this will happen is if we teach them that attacking Reproductive Rights is too politically risky to be worth their time. Don’t lose hope. The majority of America is on your side. The smartest people in the world are on your side. The other side does have the stamina for this fight. They want to convince you that you can’t win, because they want you to give up.

Spread the word. Reach out to people outside of pro-choice circles. The only way they can win is by convincing us that abortion is shameful and that we should be afraid of talking about it. You are surrounded by people who know the value of choice first-hand. If I’ve learned nothing else from this War on Women, I’ve learned that the other side depends on our silence about abortion, depends on us “respecting” their opinions by never sharing our experiences.

Don’t give up. Don’t lose hope. We will win.
